The New England Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund’s 2009 health fairs broke previous records, servicing almost 1200 members with 1,000 flu vaccinations and over 3,100 assorted health screenings. 

Screenings included blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, bone density, prostate specific antigen, hearing and vision exams, pulmonary function tests, body mass index and body fat percentage measurements, and sun exposure damage analysis. As in past years, the influenza vaccination was the most sought-after medical provision at the NELHSF’s health fairs.
