One of the New England Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund’s most popular and effective health programs is its health fair initiative. Each year, the Fund conducts health fairs throughout the region in an effort to educate Laborers and their families about the importance of work place safety and preventive healthcare measures. The Fund’s fairs have become an annual tradition that Laborers count on to ensure that their health needs are met. From Connecticut to Maine, the array of free health services and medical screenings at each fair continues to grow, with something for every member of the family.
This year’s health fairs will offer a variety of screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, sun damage assessment, and pulmonary function tests, as well as hearing, vision, and bone density exams. Medical therapies such as chair massages and chiropractic services will also be offered. Additionally, free influenza vaccinations will be offered to attendees age 18 and older.
